3 Hours Intensive per Session
Within the three hours each day, students will learn different reading strategies, practice the strategies, and engage in application activities.
Multimodal
Dr. Hines will teach reading strategies using different modalities such as videos, passages, and games.
Interactive Workbook
Workbook contains 10 chapters that guide students through the different reading comprehension strategies starting with word reading, spanning to vocabulary development, and ending with integrating background knowledge.
Science of Reading
All material is based on the Science of Reading.
Mutlisensory
In a virtual camp for middle school students, multisensory reading strategies might include interactive annotation tools for highlighting text while listening to audio versions, and guided discussions where students type or speak responses to deepen comprehension. Incorporating movement breaks tied to vocabulary (e.g., acting out words) and visual organizers like digital mind maps supports engagement and helps solidify understanding through multiple sensory pathways.

Small group setting allows students to ask questions, receive feedback, and engage in discussion with peers.
